Office of Preparedness

The Preparedness program area coordinates with non-governmental organizations and other local, regional, state and federal partners to enhance the resiliency of our communities through training, awareness, and outreach with citizens.

The Finance and Grants Administration program area is responsible for approving grant expenditures, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.  This program area develops the federal and state progress reports and submits all appropriate grant and contract monitoring documentation into the state and federal systems. This program area is responsible for tracking each federal and state grant funding source for the Office of Preparedness.

The Training and Exercise program area is responsible for facilitating state-level training that supports the State Homeland Security Strategy and State Preparedness Goal. The program area also works with local agencies and the regions to ensure greater coordination in planning local and regional exercises. This program area leads the integration of state-level training with local, regional and federal training programs, and works collaboratively with stakeholders for both training and exercise planning and implementation.
